Product Description
Eileen loved rocks: collecting them, arranging them, and categorizing them by size and shape, or by type and colour. Two years later, at a prestigious university, it was time for Elaine to choose her major. she had no idea what she wanted to do with her life, or what identity she wanted for herself, while she was growing up; But it was time to choose. Geology (the science of stratigraphy) seemed like the best decision at the time. In any case, she really liked rocks. Eileen's mother, and father, were proud of their daughter, who had chosen to specialize in geology, and who would become a geologist in the future. When Eileen graduated, she returned home with her parents. I started paying children and walking the dogs for a fee also to earn a little money; Her parents were bewildered and confused - that's what Eileen had been doing in high school. They have incurred huge expenses in order to obtain a university degree. When will their daughter become a geologist, then? When will her career start? That's what she studied. that's what she's supposed to do. The secret is that Eileen realized that she did not want to become a geologist, and was not interested in spending time studying Earth processes, materials, or history. She was not interested in field work, or working for a natural resource extraction company, or an environmental agency. She did not like to plan or prepare reports, but chose geology arbitrarily; Because she loved rocks. Now that Elaine had obtained the diploma, she had no idea how to get a job, or what she would have to do in the rest of her life; What made her parents feel disappointed in her. If the college years had been the best four years of Eileen's life, as everyone told her, she would have aspired to a higher purpose; But she didn't know what to do. Eileen didn't know that she wasn't the only one who didn't want to work in her field. In fact, in the USA, only 27% of graduates end up working in a field related to their academic major. The fact is that the idea that the major, which you will choose, represents the field in which you will work for the rest of your life, and the idea that college represents the best years of your life (before a life of work, toil and boredom), are two of the ideas we call flawed beliefs—myths that prevent many People design the life they want.
