Product Description
Two moons. two worlds. a girl. a boy. a love story. an atmosphere of magic and fantasy, a journey of self-discovery, a story of two parallel existences, and a fantasy world comparable to that of George Orwell. Haruki Murakami's 1Q84 is so far His most ambitious novel, one with profound impact, is captivating and entertaining to the extreme. It is a feat, a masterpiece and an experience full of intelligence, excitement and suspense, which caused a sensation in Japan upon its publication, and its first edition sold out in one day, while it sold one million copies in its first month.
About the Author:
In 1978, Haruki Murakami was twenty-nine and running a jazz bar in downtown Tokyo. One April day, the impulse to write a novel came to him suddenly while watching a baseball game. That first novel, Hear the Wind Sing, won a new writers' award and was published the following year. More followed, including A Wild Sheep Chase and Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World, but it was Norwegian Wood, published in 1987, that turned Murakami from a writer into a phenomenon. His books became bestsellers, were translated into many languages, including English, and the door was thrown wide open to Murakami's unique and addictive fictional universe.
